Although a small footprint, this project was complex in scope. The addition had to be nestled between 3 sides of existing buildings. The energy efficient shell housed new classrooms and offices for the campus and library. The basement and roof were designed to house new cooling tower equipment for the campus.
Plato, an archdiocese school on Chicago’s west side, had to be renovated to comply with ADA regulations. DMA Architects helped to access the requirements and complete design, construction drawings and project administration for a new elevator, accessible toilets and general clean up of the 1920’s school building.
Affiliated with Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago Teacher’s Center is an organization that makes itself available to teachers for training and education. DMA helped to plan the 24,000 square foot renovation with new office, meeting and resource spaces that featured the concrete framework of the existing loft building.

DMA Architects has worked on numerous house renovations. While each project is has specific requirements, various common elements include a more open floor plan with a great room, new kitchen and baths, a new and larger master suite and outdoor space.
